Privacy Policy

1. What we collect
We collect the minimum information needed to run the Site:
- Banner purchases. Tier, banner text, display name, coordinates, and timestamp.
- Email. Required at checkout so Stripe can send a receipt, generate an invoice, and create a customer account link.
- Analytics. Google Analytics 4 pageviews, funnel events (deploy clicks, checkout starts, payment outcomes, scroll depth, section impressions, display-mode changes, share clicks, news clicks). IP addresses are anonymized (last octet truncated).
- Technical logs. Standard server logs (timestamp, path, response code, user-agent) kept for up to 30 days for abuse detection.
2. What we do not collect
- We do not store full credit card numbers — Stripe handles all card data.
- We do not sell data to advertisers.
- We do not track you across other websites.
3. Who we share data with
- Stripe — payment processing (subject to Stripe’s privacy policy).
- Google Firebase — hosting, Firestore database, cloud functions.
- Google Analytics (GA4) — aggregate usage metrics.
- Law enforcement — only in response to a valid legal request.
4. Cookies
We use a single session cookie to identify your analytics session (so we can count you as one visitor instead of many). We use localStorage to remember your display mode choice. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.
5. Your rights
You can request deletion of a banner you posted by emailing hello@isthehormuz.com. If you are in the EU, UK, or California, you have rights under GDPR / UK-GDPR / CCPA including access, correction, deletion, and objection to processing. We will respond within 30 days.
6. Data retention
Banner metadata is kept for the 7-day display window and then archived. Order records are retained for 7 years for tax/accounting purposes. Analytics retention is 14 months by default (GA4 setting).
7. Children
The Site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
8. Changes
We may update this policy. Material changes will be announced on the Site. The “Last updated” date above reflects the current version.
